Sara Gentile nasce a Milano nel 1982. Dopo la maturità classica si iscrive alla Facoltà del Design presso il Politecnico di Milano dove si laurea nel 2003 in Fashion Design. Nel 2002 studia ad Anversa dove segue corsi di Product Design. Nel settembre 2003 vince una borsa di studio presso l’Istituto Italiano di Fotografia e due anni più tardi si diploma con il massimo dei voti. Dal 2005 al 2008 è cultore della materia del corso di fotografia del Politecnico di Milano (Facoltà del Design). Dopo aver collaborato per alcuni anni come assistente di fotografi di still life e arredamento (Corrado Crisciani) e di moda (Valerio Spada), da gennaio 2006 si specializza in still life di beni di lusso lavorando per Lorenz, azienda italiana di orologeria. Nel novembre 2009 vince una residenza d’artista insieme ad altri 9 creativi indetta da Gas, azienda leader nell’abbigliamento giovanile, per dar vita al libro “25 days”. Nel Febbraio 2010 espone alla collettiva “Photo Speaks”, organizzata dalla Society of Korean Photography a Seoul. A settembre 2010 esce il libro “Quando i fauni escono dal bosco: racconti emotivi di storie ordinarie”. Da luglio 2010 ha aperto studio Verderame insieme ad Irene Baratto, stylist di arredamento. Sara Gentile was born in Milan in 1982. After graduating from high school specializing in classical studies, she went on to study at Politecnico University of Design, in Milan. In 2003, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design. In 2002 Sara moved to Antwerp, Belgium to study Product Design. In 2003, she won a scholarship with the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia (i.e. Italian Institute of Photography) and graduated two years later with first-class honors. From 2005 to 2008, Sara was assistant lecturer for Photography at Politecnico, University of Design, in Milan. After collaborating as assistant photographer with still-life, interior design and fashion photographers including Corrado Crisciani and Valerio Spada, in January 2006 Sara specialized in still-life photography of luxury goods. She then started to work for Lorenz, an Italian watch company. In November 2009, together with 9 other candidates, Sara won a creative artist residency promoted by Gas, a leading Italian youth apparel company, aimed at creating the book called "25 days". In February 2010, she exhibited at the "Photo Speaks" exhibition organized by the Society of Korean Photography in Seoul. Sara’s photo book titled “Quando i fauni escono dal bosco: racconti emotivi di storie ordinarie” is set to be released in September 2010. in July 2010 she found studio verderame with Irene Baratto interior stylist.
